kristen bell looked absolutely gorgeous at the emmy's last night.

it's a far cry from that pic of her in her cap and gown in s.h.s.' hallway back home.

i think mr. barnard must have had a heart attack.

his former student and star of his plays is all grown up and going to the emmy's.

when i was a sophomore, he was so excited about her. he said she'd be famous. who knew she'd have her own show (veronica mars)? i remember him being absolutely thrilled that she got a small part in Chris Rock's movie Pootie Tang. this must be so huge for him.

i never met her, she graduated colin's freshman year. but it's not very often someone from not only your high school, but your home town (yes, she lived in the same city as i do) becomes famous. i mean it's shrine for heaven sakes. but good for her. from what i've heard (from my former teachers), she's definitely earned it. i think everybody at that school has got to be incredibly proud. that's really cool. they're no oscars, but for a small town girl like kristen, they're a huge deal. and that's awesome.
